Before-and-after NASA images show crater carved by a SpaceX rocket that slammed into the moon

A crashing rocket created a crater. Scientists examined photos of the impact area. The crater is relatively small, about 60 feet across and less than 10 feet deep. Dark and bright streaks are visible around it.

The rocket's upper stage hit at high speed after drifting through space. It was originally launched with private moon landers and experiments.
