A 66-year-old man was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for fatally shooting a woman. The shooting occurred during a dispute over $30. The man, Raymond Jones, had waived his right to a jury trial, allowing a judge to decide the case.
He was found guilty of second-degree unintentional murder. The victim was 43-year-old Desirae Argueta-Joj. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office had argued for a conviction of second-degree intentional murder and a longer prison sentence.
