Heavy rain and thunderstorms brought significant rainfall overnight, with amounts ranging from 1 to nearly 4 inches. The west metro area, including Minnetonka and Plymouth, received some of the heaviest rain, as did the north metro area extending to Brainerd.

Rainfall totals in these areas reached one to three inches. A few more showers are expected today, possibly including a thunderstorm, before drying out this afternoon.
