A cooler week is expected in the Minneapolis area compared to last week. There will be a few chances of rain, but not enough to significantly impact the summertime rain deficit. The metro area is currently about 4 inches below normal rainfall since June 1st.

The first chance of showers will occur late today and this evening, with a possibility of a thunderstorm in the metro area. A severe storm is possible in Southwest Minnesota, but not expected elsewhere in the state. Further details on the weather forecast are available from KSTP 5 Eyewitness News, including temperature expectations for the rest of the week.
