A local apartment building required evacuation due to a fire. The building, located on Portland Avenue, had smoke and flames visible upon arrival of first responders. Assistance was provided to multiple people to exit the building safely.

The fire was contained, though damage occurred to several units. Fortunately, residents escaped without injury. However, a firefighter did receive medical attention for a minor injury.
