MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Freddie Freeman and Andy Pages each had three of the Dodgers’ season high-tying 17 hits, Justin Wrobleski worked seven strong innings, and Los Angeles beat the Minnesota Twins 12-3 Tuesday night.
Mookie Betts, Alex Freeland, Alex Call and Chuckie Robinson had two hits apiece...
Key takeaway A sacrifice fly from Shohei Ohtani and two-out RBI singles by Freeman and Betts against Austin Voth gave the Dodgers a 5-2 lead in the fourth inning.
Why this matters in The Minneapolis
The Twins' struggles in interleague play continue, with this loss dropping their record to 9-17 against teams from the other league. This series against the Dodgers has been a tough test for the Twins, and the team will look to bounce back in the series finale on Wednesday. The Twins' pitching staff has been hit hard, with Austin Voth allowing 11 hits and five earned runs in his debut. The team's offense has shown some spark, with Victor Caratini and Brooks Lee homering, but it hasn't been enough to keep up with the Dodgers' potent offense. With Joe Ryan scheduled to start on Wednesday after being moved back from his scheduled Tuesday start due to an illness, the Twins will be looking for a stronger outing from their pitching staff to try and salvage a win in the series.
