From Washington: Earnings for households have reached a new peak. The median household income is now higher than it was before the pandemic. This milestone was achieved after a modest increase of 2.6% from the previous year, once inflation is taken into account.
The typical household now brings in more than it did six years ago. However, the gain is relatively small, which may contribute to widespread dissatisfaction with the economy.
