Consumer Reports conducted a durability test to find the best garden hoses. The test involved assessing hoses for their tendency to kink, water flow rate, and overall strength. Each hose underwent a pull test and was evaluated for its performance.

The results showed that expandable hoses had weaker overall results compared to standard garden hoses. A top-performing polyurethane hose did well in strength and water-flow tests, but can cost over $100.
